The number of destitute asylum seekers accessing PAFRAS services has increased rapidly in the last year.

During 2007 PAFRAS received 4,465 visits from destitute asylum seekers at its drop-in centres, and provided 1,608 one-to-one support sessions with specialised staff. PAFRAS has also provided 4,266 hot meals, 2,108 food parcels, 638 toiletries packs, and blankets and clothing.

The Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust Destitution Inquiry research showed that PAFRAS received 54% of visits by destitute asylum seekers to key agencies in Leeds.
